Oakland Global Rail Enterprise

Oakland Global Rail Enterprise, LLC (OGRE) is a newly created short line railroad company.  OGRE anticipates Class III status with the Surface Transportation Board, and is recognized by the FRA as a system rail carrier. OGRE is comprised of two Oakland-based and Port of Oakland certified local businesses — West Oakland Pacific Railroad (WOPR) and California Capital & Investment Group (CCIG).

WOPR runs two locomotives and provides regular five day per week service on the former OTR tracks and on new Port of Oakland tracks with switching available 24/7 as needed. The sole managing member of WOPR is Industrial Railway Company, which is the oldest continually-operating railroad construction contractor in existence throughout Northern California and Nevada. WOPR is a completely FRA compliant rail operator with FRA approved safety and training programs, and WOPR also maintains its own tracks and equipment.

CCIG is a leading East Bay full service commercial real estate company specializing in brokerage, asset management, property management, development, lending and consulting. CCIG has brokered the sale and lease of millions of square feet of office, industrial and retail properties throughout the Bay Area with combined transaction values exceeding $1 billion, in addition to underwriting and redeveloping several iconic Bay Area historic properties. CCIG recently completed its contract with the City of Oakland for the master development, property management, and construction management of infrastructure and site improvements on the 160 acre, City-controlled portion of the former Oakland Army Base.
